Kai
Cay Restaurant™ will be a fine dining establishment
that will encompass all of the cuisines of the Caribbean
Islands.
The
name Kai Cay comes from the Jatibonicu Taino Tribe of Boriken
(Puerto Rico). In
their language, the word Kai means nourishment, and the word
Cay means island.
Over
7,000 islands make up the Caribbean Isles, forming a great
arc that stretches from Florida to Venezuela, and enclosing
the Caribbean Sea. The cuisine of the islands can best be
summarized as tropical. The result is an incredible array
of beautiful food that grows in an area best known for its
beaches and warm, fragrant breezes. Through out the centuries, many cultures have
settled in the region. Along with the indigenous people, such
as the Taino, Carib,
and the Arawaks, the islands have been settled by people from
France, Spain, England, Holland, Africa,
Asia, the United States, and Others. All of these countries
have added to the rich tapestry of culinary arts.
